What will be taught on the course?

The Life of Muhammad ﷺ course has 2 modules: Part 1 is about the Prophet’s ﷺ life in Makkah, Part 2 is about the Prophet’s ﷺ life in Madinah. Both modules will cover the amazing life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, from his blessed birth right through to his passing.

In this module (Part 2): The Life of Muhammad ﷺ Madinan Period, you will learn about the Prophet’s ﷺ emigration to Madinah, building of the Muslim community, the Prophet’s ﷺ death and succession from amongst the Companions.

Students need to sign up separately if they wish to study the first module (Part 1): The Life of Muhammad ﷺ Makkan Period.

What are the expected learning outcomes?

During the course, we expect students to:-

  • Learn about Muhammad ﷺ, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (SWT) and the nature of his Prophethood in Islam.
  • Learn about Muhammad’s ﷺ unique character and its impact on his companions and followers.
  • Learn about Muhammad ﷺ, the family man, teacher, judge, and leader in peace times and war.
  • Learn about Muhammad ﷺ as an exemplar and his traditions (Hadith and Sunnah).

  • Recommended reading: Students are recommended to read The Sealed Nectar: Biography of the Noble Prophet by Sheikh Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarkpuri.
  • Will the classes be recorded? Yes, students will have access to the class recordings during the term and for 3 months after the course finishes.
Who is the teacher?

Shaykh Mohammed Mehdi commenced his studies at Darul Uloom (Bradford), where he successfully completed memorisation of the Qur’an and studied the first few years of the Alimiyyah programme. He subsequently completed the Alimiyyah programme at Darul Uloom (Bury) under the tutelage of many illustrious Scholars, from whom he also obtained Ijazah in the books of Hadith. He then went on to further his studies on Fiqh in Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda (Blackburn). After completing his formal studies, he has been studying a range of topics under the tutelage of the renowned Hadith Scholar, Shaykh Abdullah Ibn Yusuf Al Judai. Shaykh Mohammed is currently a lecturer at Ebrahim College (London) and Q-Iman (London), as well as an Imam at a Globe Town Mosque (London).
